Woree Sports and Aquatics Centre is a locally run pool, located in the southside of Cairns. Home to the Cairns Stingrays Swimming Club, and the Cairns Mudcrabs Masters Swimming Club.

The WSAC team are extremely passionate about swimming, and promoting the healthy lifestyle choice of being in around the water in sunny FNQ.

Services

The L'il Stingers Learn to Swim school provides a well structured program for teaching young babies all the way up to teenagers. It's perfect for helping children understand the importance of safety around the pool, as well as boosting confidence.

The Cairns Stingrays Swimming Club has proudly been a part of Woree Pool since 1989. The club hosts swimmers of a wide variety of ages and levels. From new swimmers experiencing the sport for the first time, to National level swimmers, representing the club around Australia.

Cairns Mudcrabs Masters Swimming Club was formed in 1982 and some of the founder members swim with the club today. Muddies caters for all swimming abilities from beginners to competitive including open water  swimmers.

Aqua Aerobics

Want to improve your fitness and stamina the social way? Or require some gentle water aerobic exercise as part of your rehabilitation, or physiotherapy routine? We have a choice of Aquafit classes to suit your requirements and availability.

Monday and Wednesday - 6:00pm to 7:00pm (check calendar for changes in times each week).

These evening sessions are run by Robyn Lee. Robyn has been at the pool for over 20 years doing Aqua. Her classes are generally deep water classes with buoyancy aids etc. Held in the 50m pool.

Tuesday and Friday - 9:00am to 10:00am (check calendar for changes in times each week).

The morning sessions are run by Helen Woff. Helen is relatively new to the pool but has extensive experience. Helen's classes are generally shallow water classes. Held in the 50m pool.

15m heated indoor Learn to Swim pool.

2 Kids pools great for smaller children to swim and have fun in!
